About Our Campaign

About Safe Streets Ireland

Safe Streets Ireland is a community-led campaign dedicated to reducing youth violence, knife crime, and the devastating impact these issues have on families and communities across Ireland.

We believe every young person deserves to grow up feeling safe, valued, and supported. No family should have to experience the loss, trauma, or fear caused by violence.

Our campaign aims to raise awareness, support prevention initiatives, encourage positive opportunities for young people, and bring communities together to create safer streets for everyone.

Violence is not inevitable. Through education, community action, youth engagement, and support for affected families, we can help build a future where young people choose opportunity, respect, and hope over violence.

  • Community-led and grassroots
  • Focused on prevention and early intervention
  • Supporting families affected by violence
  • Creating positive pathways for young people
  • Working with schools, youth groups, and local leaders
Mission, Vision & Values

What Drives Our Campaign

We are united by a shared belief that safer streets, stronger communities, and brighter futures are not only possible — they are achievable.

Our Mission

Safe Streets Ireland exists to protect young lives, support affected families, and create lasting change in communities across Ireland through prevention, education, and collective action.

  • Reduce youth violence and knife crime across Ireland
  • Support families affected by violence and crime
  • Promote education, prevention, and early intervention
  • Encourage positive pathways for young people through community engagement
  • Raise awareness about the consequences of violence
  • Work alongside youth organisations, community groups, schools, and local leaders

Our Vision

"A safer Ireland where every young person has the opportunity to thrive — free from violence, fear, intimidation, and crime."

We envision an Ireland where communities are strong, young people are valued, and the cycle of violence is permanently broken — replaced by a culture of respect, opportunity, and hope.

Our Values

Compassion

Every person affected by violence deserves empathy, dignity, and unconditional support.

Community

Change happens from the ground up. We amplify the power of communities working together.

Prevention First

We invest in stopping violence before it happens, not just responding after the fact.

Hope & Opportunity

We create pathways to brighter futures for young people — opportunity over violence.

Education

Knowledge and awareness are the most powerful tools in breaking cycles of violence.

Accountability

We hold ourselves to the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and impact.

The Reality We Face

The Problem Is Real.
The Time to Act Is Now.

Youth violence and knife crime are tearing apart families and communities across Ireland. These are not statistics — these are real lives, real families, real futures.

Community Stories

Behind every campaign is a human story. These are the voices of people who have been touched by violence — and who are now part of building the solution.

Volunteer Story

"After losing my nephew to knife crime, I felt completely helpless. Safe Streets Ireland gave me somewhere to channel that grief into action. Now I mentor young people every week and I see the difference it makes. They just need someone to show up for them."
